Embracing Every Challenge
Some people shy away from challenges; Jennifer Milton welcomes them. Over the past seven years at Reliable, she’s built a career by staying curious, embracing opportunities to learn, and always looking for ways to improve. As a Quality Inspector in the Valve Department, Jennifer plays an important role in ensuring Reliable’s products meet the highest standards, but it’s her positive mindset and passion for growth that truly define her story.

That mindset has helped Jennifer continue growing throughout her career and has shaped the way she approaches both work and life.
Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her two daughters, exercising, reading, strengthening her faith, and encouraging others. She also has an adventurous side that many of her coworkers may not know about. From dreaming of skydiving to climbing mountains, she’s always looking for experiences that push her outside of her comfort zone.

A Day in the Life
Jennifer’s day is focused on ensuring every product meets Reliable’s high-quality standards before it reaches our customers. She inspects machined parts, subassemblies, and finished products using precision measuring tools to ensure they meet engineering drawings and required tolerances.
She also performs specialized testing, including 24-hour pressure tests on check valves, and inspects incoming supplier components before they enter production. Throughout the day, Jennifer works closely with engineers, technicians, supervisors, and operators to solve problems and maintain quality, helping ensure Reliable’s products are built to perform safely and reliably.
Finding Purpose at Reliable
Jennifer says one of the reasons she has stayed with Reliable is the opportunity for growth and the purpose behind the company’s mission. Knowing Reliable’s products help protect lives and property gives her work a deeper meaning, and she appreciates being part of a company that has supported her both professionally and personally. She believes Reliable’s commitment to quality, education, and growth creates an environment where employees can build long-lasting careers.
A Workplace That Feels Like Family
Jennifer also values the family atmosphere at Reliable. Having family members work alongside her has allowed them to encourage one another, share knowledge, and celebrate each other’s accomplishments. She believes those connections help create a workplace where employees genuinely support one another.
Advice for Employees
When asked what advice she would give someone starting their career at Reliable, Jennifer encourages new employees to stay curious, accept feedback, and never stop learning.
“Be ambitious, be open to learning, accept criticism because criticism is where you grow… Surround yourself with people with more knowledge and don’t think any less of yourself because you don’t have that knowledge yet.”
Jennifer hopes people remember her for her strong work ethic, encouragement, and willingness to help others. Her story is a reminder that growth often comes from embracing challenges, continuing to learn, and lifting up the people around you.
